Comrades Yuri Gagarin and Ernesto Che Guevara, Moscow, November 11, 1964

Cuban revolutionary hero Che and Soviet icon Yuri Gagarin, the first human in space, had met before in Cuba. Here, in Moscow, they shared a stage again for the last time.

Gagarin died tragically in an airplane crash in 1968. Che, of course, was murdered late in 1967 after being captured fighting with guerrilla forces in Bolivia.
